Hind sight is 20/20. As expected Transmog profiles were made account wide.
I realised while writing this option that the News YouTubers have to report what is on the beta not what they expect the System to be.
But was anyone seriously thinking this was not going to be the case? I am currently playing beta trying to figure out which class I like best for Midnight. I will always bring my Priest along for the ride, but need to figure out at least a tank alt and DPS alt. So my time with transmog has been limited, but while looking at it the two big community conserns have been:
The Transmog Profile issues.
The cost of Transmogs in general.
I always assumed the Transmog Profiles would be account wide and was surprised to see it wasn’t. Now that they have confirmed I feel much better about the system. I hope they expand the situations system, where you can change your gear based on what your doing a little more. Perhaps allow more profiles for the 800k gold they are expecting would be good. But again not for me. I’m going to be fine.
The cost of transmog initially feels too high, but as I set in and realised that with gear changes every tier I would break even extremely quickly as someone who rarely changes his transmog. Every raid tier I assume you will have 3 gear swaps Mythic(+), Normal, Heroic all costing about 1000g per level. So 3k gold per tier. So 2-5k gold initially sounds good. As a void elf that’s roughly what it costs, plus the cost for the profiles it will only take a few tiers to break even from right now.
I do have some quick suggestions for improvements.
– You could favourite a number of items per slot for free swaps between the item.
– You could increase the frequency of Trial of Style.
– I really like the ‘laundry day’ day idea by SoulsoBrezzy
